Sumo Robot - Remote Control & Creative Lego

Wassup y’all! it’s been quite long since the first semester, and i’m back here with my first IT Project in the second semester, which is sumo robot. it’s basically a small robot that’s designed to face off in sumo-like robot competititons. and, as for my project.. i was teached on how to operate the sumo robot, and i even fought off against my friends. for the lego, i was told to make a group project. where we made a design for a sumo robot, which then we called it “drifter”

Sumo Robot : Remote Control

So, this is the remote-controlled sumo robot. which is the one widely used in Indonesia, and of course since it’s the widely used one, we study this one first, rather than the fully autonomous one. the controls are pretty simple, since we use a PlayStation 2 Controller, and well.. we were told to navigate through a path that was made by my teacher, which was easy until he brought in another challange, which was to bring a battery while navigating through the lines. it sounds easily, but it’s rather challenging. as for the face off, we were told to face off against eachother. we even made it look like a competition, since we had semi finals and finals.

Sumo Robot : Creative Lego - Drifter

Now for the second batch. so long story short we were divided into four groups, and each group had to make a creative lego. and our imaginations weren’t limited, so we were able to make anything we wanted. my team chose to make something simple, and after about two days we finally pulled this off. a 4wd (four wheel drive) combat robot, with the ability to drift whenever it wanted. hence the name “Drifter”
